Las Vegas is a series which revolves around the Montecito hotel and casino in Las Vegas which is a very posh and a high end casino. Danny, played by Josh Duhamel is the lead character and he spends his day trying to attend to the needs of Ed, played by James Caan, his boss. James had been a CIA agent in the past who runs a surveillance and security business in the casino.
The series showcases the everyday challenges that casinos in Vegas face like the celebrities and the VIPs which need to be kept happy, the card cheaters and the con men which the casinos have to remain aware about and deal with and the constant ebb and flow of weird guests and mysteries people who often find their way to their casino. There are couples trying to have sex anywhere they want and once in a while there is even a murder in the hotel which manages to change things quite a lot for the hotel as well as its staff members.
Las Vegas is all about the characters and the episodes all revolve around the interesting characters. Mary, played by Nikki Cox is the coordinator of the hotel for special events and is a friend of Danny. She has taken it as her personal mission to keep him from doing anything wrong. Nessa, played by Marshs Thompson is the pit boss. Nessa is named the Ice Queen because she is straight forward and absolutely cold. Mike, played by James Lesure is the valet who happens to be an engineer and finally there is Sam, played by Vanessa Marcil who is the casino host.
In the first season itself, the series begins with a dissection of the characters, all of whom have mysterious pasts. Danny had been in the Marines for a while and Ed had once been a spy. These two are the main characters of the series, though the others manage to complete the picture. Danny finds quite a lot of opportunities in the casino since there are plenty of beautiful women always around him. The show features several celebrities and real life Las Vegas hot shots in cameos which keeps things interesting.
Las Vegas seasons 1-5 dvd boxsets feature all the episodes which set a stage for exciting occurrences in an equally exciting city like Las Vegas. The cast of characters is talented and dynamic and the plot itself is interesting which helped the success of the show tremendously.
